Hope your New Year’s Day celebrations were filled with delicious cuisine. I can’t stop thinking about the yummy Malva Pudding and Ice-Cream I had for dessert, courtesy of my cousin. I can still taste this spongy and sweet delicacy.
Malva Pudding was popularized by the Cape Malay community in South Africa. The traditional recipe consists of apricot jam, caramelized butter, flour, sugar and milk. A cream sauce or brandy sauce is usually poured over it, while it is hot, and usually served with custard, ice-cream, or Amarula Cream Liqueur (my favourite!)
