Ethiopia’s Blue Eruption

In Ethiopia, a splendid phenomenon called, the “cerulean eruption” takes place in the Danakil Depression.

The volcano’s orange-red lava glows in a crisp blue or violet colour. The blue or violet colour is a result of the flames produced, when escaping sulphuric gases come into contact with temperatures above 360°C burn.
