Visiting Bo-Kaap was such a beautiful experience. The place is beautiful, and rich in history. Most of the residents are descendents of slaves, who were brought to the Cape by the Dutch, during the 16th and 17th centuries. They came all the way from China, Burma, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Mozambique, Madagascar, Tanzania and West Africa. The people are friendly too. They didn’t even get angry when we photographed their neighbourhood. My favourite part of Bo-Kaap is obviously the bright and colourful houses. I can’t imagine anybody being sad, living in such a vibrant and colourful environment.
